W – Webdings [read]

April 24, 2009

April experimental tWittering continued …

fin_b_b2Some while ago I joined the Bloggers’ Big Read. Thanks to Dimitar and Val (bloggers) and all non-bloggers for sharing their favourite reads. It took one of my invitees Velqn a lot of time to share his favourite books, so in the meantime I though maybe he only reads blogs 😦 But on World Book Day (23 April) he intrigued me to read Jonathan Littell’s ‘The Kindly Ones’. Wonder how webdings  renders ‘read’, so he does read books in addition to web things:-)

Bloggers’ Big Read – update

March 31, 2009

Thanks to all who responded to my Bloggers’ Big Read post. I was happy to see books that I have also enjoyed in respondents’ comments.  And that’s how I discovered Mike Ramm‘s book shelf.  Below a quick overview of the authors with the highest frequency of occurrence (so far – as of 31 Mar’09). Those who are still willing to share are most welcome to do so here.

Bloggers’ Big Read

March 29, 2009

I liked Eneya ‘s idea (in Bulgarian) therefore I join the Bloggers’ Big Read – 10 top favourite books. Each one below has somehow transformed my perceptions & views. The order in which they are listed is top of mind:

√ Truman Capote’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”
√ Gore Vidal’s “Palimpsest”
√ James Aldridge “One Last Glimpse”
√ Orhan Pamuk – “Istanbul”
√ Philip Roth – “Portnoy’s Complaint”
√ Gerald Durrel – “Marrying Off Mother”
√ Nassim Taleb – “Fooled by Randomness”
Yordan Yovkov– “Boryana”
√ Douglas Adams – “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”
√ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry – “Le Petit Prince”

With this I’d like to invite Dimitar NikolovVal Nelson & Velqn Staikov to share their top 10 favourite if they wish. Everyone who wishes is also invited to share by leaving a comment.
