Banská Bystrica and the region around are spectacular. The city centre reminds one of the square in Brussels, however here it is somewhat smaller but more charming. Only 15 minutes away in Hronsek, one can see the unique wooden church (UNESCO site) with Scandinavian elements, built without a single nail. And Zvolen’s castle and city centre being just wonderful!

On 24 November 1966 a Bulgarian airplane had crashed in the area of Sakrakopec near Bratislava. All 82 people (of which 45 Bulgarians) had died on board. The Orthodox Priest Nikolay Andonov commemorates the victims’ memory every year.
