Dmitry Sherman – art photography

October 7, 2018

What people who create things of value have in common is their passion for what they do. A small art spot on Panská 17 in Bratislava with an interesting story itself, CT art gallery (the name comes from the “compress time” technique), hosts unique artists.

When was the last time you saw a classic white photography, processed the traditional way? In the period  7 Oct. – 4 Nov. 2018 you may do so at the said gallery and enjoy the art photography of Dmitry Sherman, a graduate of the Moscow Architecture Institute.

Photography. Carpe diem. This very moment. Now … Continuum … Eternity.

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, art is in the soul of the artist.

August 1, 2018

August begins great – meeting Christy Morgan, the author of “With Love from Bratislava” and having finally her book (for now available at Amazon). Moving to a new country has its challenges, so as a new comer here, fascinated by Bratislava, I can’t wait to start reading Christy’s story. Stay tuned, will write below more when I reach the final page. With love from Bratislava for now!

Christy Morgan,”With Love from Bratislava”

5 August 2018 update: 5 days later, I finished reading Christy’s book – an amazing personal story about not putting one’s dreams on hold and the challenges faced when uprooting to a new country. New beginnings! New challenges!

Dimitar Pishev

Stephan Komanadarev’s “Directions” (2017) movie tells the stories of six taxi drivers and their passengers, as they move through the night, each in hope of finding a brighter way forward.

A debut role in the movie for the young talent Dimitar Pishev. A master of ceremony, musician or actor, the stage is obviously his place.

“Directions” gives an excellent “diagnosis” of the contemporary Bulgarian society. To Cannes Film Festival review >>>

Katerina Bezgachina

An elegant and useful blog about musical events in Bratislava and in the wider world: Bratislava note books.

The blog is bi-lingual, written in Russian and English, by an art connoisseur – Katerina Bezgachina.

In Victor Hugo’s words: “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.”

Bratislava note books – Words and sounds. Texts on music.

Be Free Tours Bratislava

January 14, 2018

What makes a city even more charming on a freezing winter day is when you walk through it with a charming and knowledgeable guide – in my case this was Lucia Ertlova from Be Free Tours Bratislava.

Getting to know the history and sights of any place is great, but getting to know the people is even greater. It was an amazing walking adventure. Can’t wait to do more such tours around this fascinating city of many faces. Big thanks, Lucia! Big thanks, Bratislava! Ďakujem!
