Wooden church Bulgaria

“Preobrajenie Gospodne” /Transfiguration/ is a wooden church in the Rila Mounatian (Borovets resort). It was built in the period 1933 – 1934 with voluntary donations of local public figures, scientists and villa owners. The architect is of Austrian origin thus the temple has a typical Gothic Alpine style. On 23 September 1934  the church was consecrated by Exarh Stefan and was later renovated several times.
