Čičmany

March 18, 2018

Čičmany – an amazing folk architecture reserve in Northern Slovakia. It was founded in 1977. The name is derived from a Slovak word čičman – a lumberjack who makes a noise during work. The timbered houses with ridge roofs have very specific white patterns, which contributes immensely to the fairy atmosphere of the mountain village.
