Learn with edX

April 30, 2016

‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.’  – Dr. Seuss.

learnQuality learning has never been easier and so accessible, as with edX. Founded by Harvard University and MIT in 2012 – edX is an online learning destination with the mission to increase access to high-quality education for everyone, everywhere. I love learning new things and with edX, I would say: the more that you learn, the more you enjoy!

The Hole and the Whole

April 27, 2016

The Hole in Our Gospel by Richard Stearns – a book worth not only reading but acting upon by people from all steps of life. And those who can read shall grasp.

The hole in the world – there is a hole and a whole. Some questions when faced with the heart both from the perspective of the here-and-now and eternity ( ∞ ) might indeed change the world or hearts at least. The broken ones…at both ends.

As You Like it

April 23, 2016

ShakespeareShakespeare’s 400th anniversary and NT Live “As You Like It” – the glorious comedy of love and change. Brilliant acting and staging.

‘All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.’

Blind Hiring

April 15, 2016

I have never heard of blind hiring until I came across this unique way of having it done. At Compose, they work hard to reduce biases as much as possible.

Symbol_thumbs_up.svgEach applicant receives a personal reply, asking if he/she might be interested in completing a work sample. If he/she agrees, Compose generates an anonymized link for the applicant. The link contains questions that are relevant to the role applied for.

Grading the submissions is the most impressive part of the process. To find out how it works, read on at Compose Hiring and maybe you also start composing great things one day 🙂

How Sweet of Those Swedes

April 13, 2016

250 years ago Sweden became the first country in the world to abolish censorship. To honour this anniversary, Sweden is now the first country in the world to introduce its own phone number.

To call Sweden, dial +46 771 793 336 – that’s right, a phone number for the entire country. Call it, and you’ll get connected to “a random Swede” with whom you can talk about anything. How Sweet of Those Swedes! Read on >>>
