Abel Sánchez

March 15, 2015

In Abel Sánchez: The History of a Passion” – the modern exploration of the Cain and Abel story, Miguel de Unamuno through a parable explores the eternal theme of envy. The difference between two boyhood friends is made clear when Abel becomes an artist of some repute and Joaquin decides to become a physician in order to rival him in fame. They drift further apart when Abel marries Joaquin’s love. Being, having, doubting – themes well dwelt upon, all throughout.
