Dear Spectators

Some contemporary Bulgarian books read as if one is watching the news – fiction and reality almost overlap. Such for me was Ivo Siromahov’s novel “Dear Spectators“.  The plot: a small TV in a small town and interpersonal relationships with the daily worries and ambitions of the people involved. The author ironically reveals the mechanisms of media and power.
