Shame

Magic Realism is not quite my cup of tea. After “The Satanic Verses”, which I read years ago, “Shame” was just as magically realistic. In many places in this novel Salman Rushdie stops the narrative to tell us why he is in fact writing it, confused me a lot and at the same time helped me read it through. The themes of shame and shamelessness evoked a mixture of feelings.
