Helena

May 21, 2010

St. Helena (also known as Helena of Constantinople). ‘Helena was at a time, literally, the most important woman in the world, yet we know next to nothing about her.’ Evelyn Waugh felt very much attracted to Helena’s sanctity and the deed which she performed – the finding of the True Cross. Today the Orthodox church commemorates the feast of Saints Constantine and Helen. Happy Name Day to all celebrating.
