Feast of Saints Peter and Paul

June 29, 2009

Today the Eastern Orthodox Church commemorates the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. I am reminded of Jesus when he said to Peter, “I assure you, today, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times” (Mark 14:30). And Peter did. But eventually Peter became a stronger servant. With their lives the holy apostles have shown, that sinners can overcome their imperfections.

As Peter is among the most popular names in Bulgaria, Happy Name Day to All celebrating today.

@ Людмил: thank you very much for your comment. The power of grace – a lot to think about.

@ Ginoquarius: thanks for reminding on the name day of Kamen(s) … ‘Peter’ meaning ‘rock’ and ‘Kamen’ in Bulgarian being close to it. You will definitely be stoned with gin ‘on the ROCKS’ 🙂
