On linking & reading

February 24, 2009

stockxpert_linking_network Insightful reading by Mitch Joel on the topic of ‘When everyone is linking to everyone and everyone has their own publishing platforms to share their thoughts, what happens? … But, there’s only one metric that counts (still). It’s still about the first (and only) metric that really matters: are people reading?’ Image: Stockxpert

Dance of Love

February 23, 2009

The Persian poet Caleleddin-i-Rumi’s biogrpahy movie ‘Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi: Aşkın Dansı’  [Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi: Dance of Love] moved me with the poetry in it, music & dance – ‘The way of our prophets is the way of Truth. If you want to live, die in Love; die in Love if you want to remain alive…’

Love has nothing to do with
the five senses and the six directions:
its goal is only to experience
the attraction exerted by the Beloved…
(Mathnawi III, 1417-1424)

Like Water for Chocolate

February 22, 2009

The magic writing of Laura Esquivel reads Like Water for Chocolate. The story is interwoven with delicious Mexican recipes – one almost tastes the delicacies throughout the book. Some say that ‘Love path to men’s heart passes through stomach’. Wonder if it is absolutely or relatively true.

21 Feb'09

The Eastern Orthodox Church observes several All Souls’ Days during the year. Today being the one before the Great Lent – devoted to general prayer for the departed. ‘For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.’ (Luke 20:38). With a prayer to all departed loved ones. Image: Pravoslavieto

In vino veritas

February 20, 2009

boyan_in_vino_veritas I met Boyan Donev years ago through his graphics. His art fascinates me. ‘In vino veritas’ (the Latin phrase means “in wine is the truth”) is among my favourite. The phrase suggests that one tends to reveal one’s true feelings under the influence of wine. Does the artist suggest the same? Or more and beyond…
