St. Sofia Day

September 17, 2008

Nature has been generous to our charming city Sofia celebrating its day today – St. Sofia Day, on which the Orthodox Church pays homage to the Holy Martyr Sofia (Divine Wisdom) and her daughters – Faith, Hope and Love.

St. Sofia Church is the second oldest church in Sofia. The oldest being the Rotunda St. George (so so long back in time – 4th century AD).  What to wish for on a day like this for the city – let it be what the name of it stands for. What to visit, where to go – I’d check with the first-person guide to it – SoSofia!
