If circumstances are seen as unfortunate it is only because of our inadequate conception of reality. “If the mind has once been affected by two emotions at the same time, it will, whenever it is afterwards affected by one of the two, be also affected by the other.” Part III, proposition 14, Spinoza’s Ethics. ‘Reality is perfection’. My mind sometimes struggles with it.
